Metro Corrections inmate charged with attempted murder of another inmate

(WHAS11) A Metro Corrections inmate is charged with attempted murder, after police said he attacked another sleeping inmate.
46-year-old John Morris is also facing charges of assault.
Police said Morris used a metal handicap bar to hit the other inmate four times in the head while he slept.
Police said Morris had to be restrained by other inmates.
The victim was transported to University Hospital and treated for a fractured skull and lacerations to his face and scalp.
