(WHAS11)  Multiple police departments are investigating, after cars in several neighborhoods and even at a local movie theater have had their windows shot out.

Both Louisville Metro Police and Jeffersontown Police are actively searching for the people responsible, but say right now they have no leads.

Officers told WHAS11 that this started happening on Thursday at the Stonybrook Cinema in Jeffersontown, and over the next few days expanded into neighborhoods and subdivisions in Jeffersontown, Okolona and Louisville.

They believe it’s happening after dark, and so far nothing has been stolen from any of the cars.

In the past three days, police have received anywhere from 40 to 50 reports of car windows being shot and say they do believe all of these cases are connected.

Dwight Mitchell, LMPD,  “We had about eight in the sixth division yesterday directly related to this and several in the 7th division, which was in the Saratoga Woods neighborhood.”

Police have stepped up enforcement in the areas that have been affected.

Again, since they do not have any suspects at this time they are asking anyone with any information to call 574-LMPD.
