LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- One day after a home exploded in an Okolona neighborhood, neighbors have expressed frustrations that Louisville Gas & Electric didn’t properly warn them in the days leading up to the accident. Neighbors have said some complaints about a gas smell went unanswered. Some say an LG&E worker did come out to the Indian Falls neighborhood last week to check. Some wanted to be evacuated by a technician who arrived on the scene just minutes before the blast.

Everton Cuelho and his family survived despite being inside the home during the explosion. Cuelho had just woken up and was getting ready for work when he got his wife and two-year old daughter out of their room. All three have been released from the hospital and are staying with friends. They do not have any family in Louisville according to neighbors.

WHAS11’s Bryan Baker spoke to LG&E about the claims neighbors are making in an I-Team investigation. Find out what a spokesman had to say. Click the video player above for the story.
