(WHAS11) - The hunt continues for the man who police believe may have killed a woman in LaRue County last Friday.
The victim's family is sharing disturbing new information about what they say really happened.
Kristie Allen's cousins tell WHAS11 that Allen was a wonderful person, who was helping her new boyfriend turn his life around.
"She was full of life. Always smiling, laughing, every time you saw her," said Katie Brown, her cousin.
Kristie Allen's body was discovered at a home in the Buffalo community, where she had been house-sitting for a friend.
Allen's family says their cousin's body was discovered by her mother, who went by the house to check on her after she failed to answer her phone and return text messages.
Allen apparently had been strangled, family members say.
Her body was found wrapped inside a comforter, which was tied closed with a rope, said family members.
The body was locked inside a bedroom.
Family members say that Allen's boyfriend Abdullah White was in the house when Allen's mother came by, but he then ran outside and drove off in Allen's car.
The car was found over the weekend abandoned in Taylor County, but White has not yet been apprehended.
WHAS11 learned that he was released last spring after serving 15 years of a 20 year sentence for killing a man back in 1995.
Police say they're following leads in the case.
