GREENVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – Authorities have two suspects in custody after an elderly couple was found dead in their Southern Indiana home Saturday morning.

Two 18-year-old men, Kevin Schuler and Austin Scott, are accused of brutally attacking Gary Henderson and Asenath Arnold in their rural Greenville home on Walk Drive NE, which is near Whiskey Run Road.

Harrison County Sheriff Rodney Seeyle said the pair entered the home through an unlocked door. He said Arnold was killed by a large wooden object, while Henderson was stabbed repeatedly.

Deputies said one of the teens lived nearby and they believe he knew the couple. Stolen items such as prescription pills, credit cards and guns were recovered during the investigation.

Schuler and Scott were arrested Saturday night and are currently being held on unrelated charges at the Floyd County jail.

Seeyle said he believes the teens were the only two involved in the crime.

Schuler and Scott are expected in court Monday, where police said they will be officially charged with murder.

This is the first homicide in Harrison County in three years.
