JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – A suspect is now in custody after a standoff in the 4300 block of Charlestown Pike in Jeffersonville, Ind.

Jeffersonville Police dispatchers said the standoff appeared to be part of a road rage incident.

Police said the suspect pointed a gun at another driver on I-65. Indiana State Police were looking for the suspect when he was spotted by Jeffersonville Police on city streets.

Police said an officer tried to pull him over but the man, in his mid 20s, pulled into the driveway of a home and ran into the woods.

Police tried to talk him out, but he ignored their orders so they sent in a K-9. The dog was able to get a hold of the suspect and police placed him into custody.

Witnesses said they were shocked by what was happening in their neighborhood.

"Man, it was like something out a a movie for real. It was pretty cool. I've never seen that because nothing like that really happens out here," Chase Scott, who witnessed the standoff, said.

Police siad they believe drugs may be to blame for the man's actions.
