LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – WHAS11 News has learned a special prosecutor will join the investigation of Clark County's Drug Court.

The WHAS11 iTeam uncovered several problems involving the drug court which led to the director of the program being fired.

And on Monday afternoon, Feb. 3, prosecutor Steve Stewart announced he will ask for a special prosecutor to review the investigation.

We've been waiting to see if the prosecutor was going to file charges or not. Tonight we still don't know about charges but we know Clark County prosecutor Steve Stewart won't be the one with the final say.

A special prosecutor will decide whether Susan Knoebel and Jeremy Snelling will face charges after a questionable arrest.

Knoebel was the drug court director and has already been fired. Snelling is the court bailiff and is currently suspended without pay indefinitely.

The pair is accused of arresting Cody Hendricks at this job at Rocky’s; they don't have arresting powers.

Stewart says he can't handle the case because it involves people that work within his same court system.

Stewart says Circuit Court Judge Webber will decide who the special prosecutor will be. The prosecutor will be from outside Clark County.
