BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- There's a fight in Southern Indiana over water.
In Bartholomew County, some homeowners have had dry wells for a week and they are blaming the farmers who are irrigating their crops with new field irrigation systems.
The Bartholomew County Water Corporation recognizes the problem and it is blaming the shortage on this yar's lack of rain.
Ten years ago, the water company went to homes asking residents if they wanted to abandon their wells for city water, but most people said no.
Now, residents are asking the utility to come back.
County officials say they'll consider it, but aren't sure if it would be financially viable.
