MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WHAS11) – On Feb. 13 Paul Stucker, of Scott County, was found guilty of murdering Johnny Hodge in a LaPorte County Courtroom in Michigan City, Ind. according to Indiana State Police.
The murder took place in an Indiana State Prison in Michigan City in 1983.
According to ISP the motive for the murder is not clear but Stucker was found guilty of throwing gallons of liquid accelerant onto Hodge who was locked in a jail cell and led to him being burnt alive.
ISP said they received information in 2005 that Stucker was involved in Hodge’s murder and opened the case again. In 2012 Stucker was arrested after enough evidence was found.
A sentencing hearing is set for Feb. 27 at the LaPorte County Courthouse in Michigan City, Ind.
