JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A Southern Indiana woman was killed early Sunday morning when the car she was in left the road and flipped over.

Indiana State Police say the crash happened on State Road 7 near County Road 50 in Jennings County about 1:40 a.m.

Forty-nine-year-old Sherry Speer and 50-year-old James Brewner were thrown from the car. Speer was killed, and Brewner was flown to UofL Hospital with serious injuries.

Police say neither person was wearing a seatbelt.

They aren't sure which occupant was driving but alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash.
