(WHAS 11) -- Take a historic ride on board a restored World War ll B-17 flying fortress!

The B-17, also known as the Memphis Belle, is celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Belle's historic last mission.

The plane travels the country to educate people about World War ll vets and the sacrifices they made.

July 15 Kelsey Starks took her dad along for the ride. Her grandfather was shot down in one of the historic planes.

The planes are on display for free tours July 18-20 at the Clark County Airport or you can take a ride for $450.
