CROTHERSVILLE, Ind. (NEWS RELEASE) -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Department is investigating an attempted abduction of a child in the 300 block of S. Armstrong Street (US 31) in Crothersville, Ind., that occurred at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The sheriff's department is looking for white male driver of a red, late model,
Ford pickup truck with a red colored, hard bed cover, who offered a ride to a girl on S. Armstrong Street.  The girl refused the ride and walked on to her residence that was nearby.  The pickup truck then left southbound on S. Armstrong Street towards Scott County.

The driver was described as a white male with short, light colored hair.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the sheriff's department at (812)358-2141.
