FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) – A pair of ATV accidents has left two people recovering a local hospital.

Two teens were riding in an ATV in Floyd County when the passenger fell off while taking a turn.

Indiana Conservation Officers say a 14-year-old was driving and the 15-year-old passenger was texting during the turn and couldn’t hold themselves on the vehicle.

Neither was wearing restraints or protective gear.

The 15-year-old victim was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital with a head injury.

In Clark County, 37-year-old Christopher Harrod suffered head injuries after an ATV crash Saturday night.

Harrod was the passenger when the vehicle rolled several times trapping both he and the driver.

37-year-old Justin Bruner, the driver, left the scene but was later found.

He’s been charged with leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.

Investigators believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
