(WHAS11) -- Former Indiana Governor Otis Bowen has been laid to rest after a private funeral in his hometown in Northern Indiana.
Bowen passed away on May 4, at the age of 95.
He was a family doctor in Bremen, Indiana for 25 years during which he delivered an estimated three thousand babies.
Bowen then got involved in politics, serving as Indiana House Speaker before being elected governor in 1972 and 1976.
He also served as Health and Human Services Secretary under President Ronald Reagan.
