JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- No injuries were reported Monday morning, but employees have quite a mess to clean up after a car plowed into a Jeffersonville convenience store.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. at the Thornton's on the corner of 10th and Wall streets.

Witnesses said an elderly lady was behind the wheel and it appears she may have stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, however, police have yet to confirm that is what happened.

Two of the store's front windows were shattered and the car hit several racks inside the store, scattering merchandise everywhere. The glass on several coolers was also shattered.

The store remains open and crews have installed new windows.
