New Albany City Council to vote on tornado sirens

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11) – The city of New Albany is considering whether to add more tornado sirens downtown.

In a meeting set for Monday, the City Council is scheduled to vote on whether to appropriate nearly $46,000 from riverboat casino revenue to install new tornado sirens at a fire station and city park.

Right now, Floyd County has 16 sirens.
