LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The man arrested following a fatal 2011 car accident in Floyd County, Ind. entered a guilty plea in court Friday.
According to the Floyd County Prosecutor's Office, Wesley Bradshaw pleaded guilty to causing death when operating a motor vehicle.
Bradshaw has been in custody at the Floyd County jail since November 20, 2011 after police said he killed Kevin Hammersmith, 52, in a car on Highway 111 near Gallagher Station in Floyd County. At the time, police said Bradshaw, of Danville, was driving his vehicle southbound when he crossed the center line and hit Hammersmith's car.
In accordance with the plea agreement, Bradshaw will receive 15 year sentence to the Indiana Department of Corrections with 12 years to serve and 3 years suspended.
Hammersmith was the Director of Government and Community Relations for Duke Energy in Southern Indiana.
