MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- A defense attorney says he wants a mental health examination for a central Indiana woman charged with attacking a mother and trying to abduct her 3-week-old daughter.

A Delaware County judge set bond at $100,000 for 34-year-old Judith Ann Walker of Anderson during a court hearing Monday. The Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/11WH07V ) Walker made her initial court appearance on charges including attempted murder and criminal confinement.

Authorities say Walker was working as an exterminator conducting a follow-up visit at the Muncie home when she choked the mother with an electrical cord and demanded the infant. The mother escaped the house with her baby.

Defense attorney Mike Quirk told the judge he would be filing a request to have Walker examined by mental health professionals.
