Memorial fund established in fallen K-9's memory

SELLERSBURG, Ind. (WHAS11) – The police K9 that was shot and killed in the Sellersburg standoff has been identified as Kilo the dog; the dog worked with the Indiana State Police.

His handler was Trooper Nate Abbott. Kilo had helped Abbott make several drug arrests after sniffing out marijuana and other drugs.

Kilo and Abbott started working together in 2007.

The Indiana State Police have set up a fund in Kilo's memory. All donations will be used to support the ISP K9 program.
