LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) –The city of Jeffersonville is moving ahead with plans to overhaul its Ohio River marina.
The city council voted unanimously to approve the new $2.2 million marina and fishing pier after turning down the project's financing plan last month because detailed design plans weren't complete.
The plans call for 54 individual boat docks and a 200-foot floating fishing pier, along with sewer connections and a new road.
Houseboats must move from the marina by January 1 after which current docks will be removed.
The project must still be approved by the Army Corps of Engineers.
