INDIANAPOLIS (WHAS11) – Indiana’s newly elected governor was sworn in on January 14 but weeks later, he’s moved into the governor’s mansion.
Pence, his wife Karen and their three children moved into the mansion on North Meridian Street in Indianapolis.
While Pence is just getting settled, he wants everyone to know not to see structural changes to the mansion any time soon.
“I have made a firm decision that we’re not going to be building a house for the first dog,” Pence said. “We’ve told him he can stay in the basement so there won’t be any building expansion going on in the backyard at the governor’s residence.”
The house wasn’t regularly used by former governor Mitch Daniels, who owned his own home just north of the city.
