LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A death investigation is underway in Crawford County, Indiana after a woman is found unresponsive on a boat in the Sycamore Creek area of Patoka Reservoir.

Indiana Conservation officers say 55-year-old Patti Hoskins-Owens of Columbus, Indiana was out swimming on a raft away from the boat yesterday afternoon.

Hoskins-Owens yelled for help to get back on the boat and once she was there, she became unresponsive.

Three registered nurses in the area swam over and began CPR.

Hoskins-Owens was taken to Harrison County Hospital, where she died.

There’s no official word on the cause of death.
