BEDFORD, Ind. (WHA11) – A southern Indiana charity is getting ready to deliver an ambulance to a hospital in Central America.
The ambulance has been donated by St. Vincent Dunn Hospital of Bedford, Indiana to Capstone Ministries of Mitchell.
Capstone Ministries says it plans to deliver the ambulance to a village hospital in Honduras later this month.
The ambulance has been driven 190,000 miles but Capstone’s board president says it’s still useable and will be a big improvement for the poor area where he says people are now taken to hospitals in the back of pickup trucks.
This is the second donated ambulance Capstone Ministries has taken to Honduras.
