INDIANAPOLIS (WHAS11) -- Indiana Governor Mike Pence has named the new state auditor.
The governor introduced Dwayne Sawyer on Thursday, Aug. 15. Sawyer will be sworn into office on Monday, Aug. 19, and his term will run through the end of 2014.
Sawyer replaces Tim Berry, who resigned on Wedneday to begin working full time as the new state Republican party chairman. Berry had been in office since 2007.
Duties of the auditor's office includes: accounting for state revenue and spending and making tax revenue distributions to local governments.
