PALMYRA, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Indiana State Police is investigating accident on Highway 150 just east of Palmyra that killed one person and left another one with life-threatening injuries.
The accident happened around 7:30 Tuesday morning in front of the Palmyra Recycling Center.
According to an Indiana State Police news release, a Kia Spectra driven by Anthony Schlicher, 22, from Salem, was traveling west on US Highway 150 when the car crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Saturn Ion. The driver of the Ion, 45-year-old Lisa Wilson of Palmyra, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Wilson made an attempt to avoid the accident, but could not.
Schlicher was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
