LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A Winslow, Ind. man was arrested early Thursday morning after police said he was found with drugs in his possession while trying to bail a friend out of Gibson County jail.

According to police, Dalton Helsley, 20, was pacing back and forth in the lobby of the jail while attempting to bail a friend out.  An Indiana State Police trooper approached Helsley and noticed his eyes were dilated and his speech was slurred, according to a news release from the ISP.

When the trooper looked into Helsley’s car, he spotted two partially burnt hand-rolled roaches and rolling paper ‘in plain view.’  Police said those roaches contained synthetic marijuana and a plastic baggie that was found in the car contained material that resembled synthetic marijuana.

Dalton Helsley was arrested and booked into the Gibson County Jail on charges of Possession of Synthetic Drugs with a previous conviction of possession of marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia with a previous conviction
