(WHAS11) -- Indiana Governor Mike Pence got a first hand look at the flooding in the central part of the state Saturday.

Cities like Kokomo and Tipton have declared states of emergency after strong storms dropped four and a half inches of rain.

One Hamilton County man was killed and another is missing after the flooding swept away their cars.

In Hendricks County, Indiana first responders had to make 11 rescues. Governor Pence praised those emergency responders for their work.

Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly also toured the damage and says any residents who need help should contact the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
