UTICA, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Greater Clark County Schools superintendent Andrew Melin is expected to recommend adding 45 minutes to the school day to make up for missed snow days.

According to a news release, the recommendation will be made during a Board of School Trustees meeting Tuesday.

The recommendation will avoid extending the school year until June 11 and will allow for extra preparation time for state assessment tests.

If the proposal passed the board, the time will be added to school days that fall between April 7 and May 9.

The meeting will be held at the GCCS Administration Building at 7 p.m.
