JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The federal government is investing $1.8 million in the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville.
The money will help spur job creation at the side of the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant.
The area has seen five declared disasters since 2008, which caused millions of dollars in damages.
The investment by the U.S. Commerce Department is expected to help create more than 1,200 jobs.
