JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- For the second time in three months the Executive Director of River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville is charged with OWI for a second time.
Jerry Acy is known for his good work of bringing in business, including Amazon, to the commerce center, but over the weekend Indiana State Police pulled Acy over. He was driving down Market Street and heading home when he was stopped.
His attorney said he failed a breathalyzer, blowing a .09.
In August, Acy hit a police road block and failed a breathalyzer test, but the operating while intoxicated charge was dropped when he pleaded guilty to public intoxication.
For the last five years Acy, has served as executive director for River Ridge working to bring in new business.
The president of the board of directors tells WHAS11 this latest legal trouble for Acy has left him disappointed and saddened.
In the meantime, Acy's attorney, Larry Wilder says they will look to see how accurate the breathalyzer was and will wait for a court date to be set and hope this run in with the law won't cost Acy his job.
Mark Robinson, President of the Board of Directors, said he personally has spoken with each board member and they will be evaluating the situation over the next few days and look for remedies, but Robinson said the board will wait for all the facts before any type is decision on Acy's job is determined.
