BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- The Bloomington Police Department says it has received more than 3,000 tips in the two years since an Indiana University student from New York went missing.
Lauren Spierer vanished June 3, 2011, after a night of partying with friends. Bloomington police would not comment on the search other than to say that it has received a total of 3,060 tips, and 166 of those have been received this year.
The 20-year-old apparel merchandising major from Greenburgh, N.Y., would have graduated from Indiana University last month. Indiana University President Michael McRobbie asked those attending graduation to keep Spierer and her family in their thoughts.
Her parents have said they assume their daughter is dead.
