COLUMBUS, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Firefighters in Southern Indiana rescued a dog after it fell into icy waters.

The Columbus, Ind. fire department used specialized water rescue equipment to get the 7-year-old golden retriever who had fallen through Tipton Lakes. The dog was wrapped in dry towels and put inside an ambulance.

The fire department just received the special ice suits and equipment in 2012 and even spent several days in January preparing for a rescue.
