Police looking for person of interest after Clarksville shooting

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- An investigation is underway in Clarksville after a woman was shot early Tuesday morning and police are looking for a person of interest.

Police have identified the person of interest as David M. Booher, 47.

The shooting happened on Montgomery Avenue around 3 a.m.

Police said they were called to the 200 block and upon arrival found a woman inside her apartment suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

The victim told police she was walking into her living room when the shot came through the front window of the apartment and struck her.

The victim was transported to University of Louisville Hospital and is expected to be OK.

During their investigations, officers said they found what appears to be a bullet hole in the window.

Police have not said what led to the shooting. Booher has an outstanding warrant from Clark County, Ind.
