WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) – Indiana State Police say a child has died after a serious single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened near the 900 block of State Road 135 just north of Salem, Indiana just before 4 p.m.
Police say 32-year-old Misty Woods of Seymour was driving her 2002 Nissan Quest when her vehicle went off-road for an undetermined reason. The vehicle then flipped numerous times before resting on its wheels.
The driver’s 10-year-old daughter, Sierra Woods was wearing a seat belt but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Woods was flown to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police couldn’t determine if she was wearing a seat belt.
