INDIANAPOLIS (NEWS RELEASE) – Josh J. Minkler, 51, has been named the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.
Minkler served as the First Assistant under former United States Attorney Joseph H. Hogsett and will now lead the federal prosecutor’s office.
Hogsett announced he was resigning from office on July 14 and it went into effect on July 31.
In addition to serving as the First Assistant, Minkler was the Drug Unit Chief and served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting drug, violent crime, and public corruption cases. He graduated from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, Ind., in 1988, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Wabash in 1985.
Replacing Minkler as First Assistant U.S. Attorney is Joe H. Vaughn who previously served as the Criminal Chief.
