DELPHI, Ind. (AP) -- Authorities say five people have been hospitalized after a head-on crash in north central Indiana.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department says a car driven by 36-year-old Brandon Staggs of Lafayette went left of center and struck another car head-on shortly before noon Monday on U.S. 421 about 65 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
The Lafayette Journal & Courier (http://on.jconline.com/1bClOtV ) reports Staggs had internal abdominal injuries and was flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis trauma center. His two children, ages 5 and 7 have been taken by ambulance to a Lafayette hospital, as have two occupants of the other car: 17-year-old driver Seth Hughes of Memphis and 70-year-old passenger Ronald Hobbs of Borden.
