HENRYVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- One man was killed in a fire Monday morning in Henryville, Ind. He’s been identified as 73-year-old Arnold Ray Roberts.
The chief of the Monroe Township Fire Department said they were called to a house fire in the 400 block of Country Lake Road about 9:45 a.m.
Roberts sister, Refa Rose, said a neighbor first noticed the flames.
“We went over there, yelled and screamed and busted out the window and busted out the door hollering for Arnold to come out,” Rose said.
Detectives said the fire started in the kitchen and blocked the only possible exit. Firefighters were able to rescue 10 dogs from the home.
A cause is still under investigation.
