(NEWS RELEASE) -- At approximately 3:46 p.m. the Floyd County Police Department received a call regarding a crash involving a passenger car and semi-tractor trailer. The crash occurred at on SR 64 at Georgetown-Lanesville Rd.  The Floyd County Combined Accident Reconstruction Team (CART) was called to the scene to investigate the crash.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a black 1999 Pontiac Grand Am pulled into the path of an eastbound semi-tractor trailer at the intersection. The Pontiac was being driven by a male juvenile.  The juvenile was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with head and internal trauma. 

The driver of the Semi, Glenn Hornback of Taylorsville Kentucky was not injured in the crash. 

It is not believed that alcohol or drugs are involved in the crash however both drivers will be tested.  It is believed that poor visibility due to the weather may be a factor in the crash.

Georgetown Fire Dept, Yellow Ambulance, Floyd County Police, Indiana State Police, New Albany Police are assisting in the investigation.
