LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - Is paying more for organic food worth the cost? A new study reveals that from a nutritional standpoint, maybe not.
Researchers at Stanford University examined more than 200 previous studies to see if organic fruits and vegetables are more nutritious.
They found that organic foods are not healthier; in fact they have the same amount of vitamins and minerals as conventional produce.
However, it turns out organic foods are safer to consume because they're less likely to have pesticide residue on them.
Still, the studies authors say that both organic and conventional produce have levels of pesticide residue that are well within what is safe for us to eat.
