OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Students who attend Oldham County Schools now have help when making healthier decisions when it comes to school lunches, thanks to an app called 'Nutrislice.'
The district's nutrition department is the first in Kentucky to launch a menu app for smartphones.
The app shows each day's menu, prices, nutrition information and even lists ingredients to help those who have allergies. It's also a great tool for helping parents keep track of what their kids are eating.
"We have so many parents now who want to know what is the nutritional integrity of the foods that we're serving and we want them to know that. It's so much easier than the print outs we used to send home. There's only so much information you can get on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper," said Leigh Anne Peterson, with Oldham County Schools.
The app is available in the Apple app store.
