(WHAS11)  The news isn’t good for Kentucky, or Indiana, when it comes to health.

According to America’s Health Rankings, Kentucky is one of the fattest and least healthy states in the country; they rank Kentucky 41st in overall health, and Indiana 35th.

According to the survey, Kentucky ranks so low because of high-levels of obesity, smoking and children in poverty.

There is one bit of good news though; even though Kentucky ranks 48th when it comes to smoking, the number of smokers is actually down 18% in the last five years.

Not surprised. I am 5'9 183 pounds and see pre-teen kids in McDonalds that weigh more than I do by a long shot stuffing their faces with junk. Parents need to be parents and control what kids eat. 1. Parents let kids do as they please and eat as they please. 2. No one cooks supper anymore and sits down to a family meal. It's all fast food or microwaved gargbage. 3. Kids spend their lives on video games, computers and cell phones, and tv and parents don't make them go outside and use their imaginations. 4. Toys are becoming more automated. Why have a doll that talks and moves. Kids should use imagination.
