LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – It's that time of year! Indiana state health officials are urging you to take steps to prevent mosquito-borne diseases!
In 2009, there were three human cases of mosquito-borne disease in Indiana. This includes West Nile Virus which health officials say may affect people aged 50 and older at greater risk.
Doctors say you should throw away old tires, tin cans, pots and other containers that hold water. They also advise to keep your grass cut short, and drill holes in the bottom of recycling containers.
