(WHAS11)—House Democrats are not saying whether they have enough support to pass their health care reform bill, but they're hoping to bring it to a vote next week.

While that's happening in Washington, hundreds of supporters of the plan are camped out inside Humana’s downtown Louisville headquarters saying the healthcare giant puts profits ahead of patients.

WHAS 11's Gene Kang was at the scene Friday morning with the protestors and they will remain there until 11:30 a.m. Friday fighting for universal healthcare.

"Patients not profits...Medicare for all...patients not profits Medicare for all," is the phrase The Kentuckians for Single Payer Healthcare group chanted in an effort to stop lobbying politicians and give more care to the uninsured.

"What we want the insurance companies to do is to stop their expenditures for lobbying and campaign contributions to politicians and instead give more care to those who are insured." David Bos, protestor, said.

Humana spokesperson Jim Turner said Humana will allow the protestors to stay until right before noon Friday as long as it stays peaceful.

"They want to see it happen...we want to see it happen...the main point we want to make from Humana is we absolutely want to see health reform this year in 2009." Turner said.
