Hundreds of people lined up to be vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus Sunday in New Albany.
The Floyd County Health Department hosted its 3rd H1N1 vaccination clinic this year.
Doctors say they gave out more than 600 vaccinations.
Some lined up as early as 7:00 a.m. and some traveled from as far away as western Kentucky.
Dr. Tom Harris, Floyd Co. Public Health Officer, said, “We're not turning people away. It's a federal vaccine program. It's a free program funded with federal dollars. It doesn't seem to make sense to deprive somebody of a vaccine because of their locality.”
Doctors say they are expecting more H1N1 vaccine shipments next week.
They say the vaccine will first be administered to children in the school with parent permission.
If enough remains, they will hold another H1N1 vaccination clinic next weekend.
