(WHAS11) -- Experts say global warming may start to cause more problems for allergy sufferers.

According to research from the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, pollen counts are expected to skyrocket over the next 30 years.

Pollen counts averaged about 8,000 in the year 2000 and by 2040 they are expected to surpass 21,000.

According to the research, allergy seasons are also expected to begin earlier each year.
