LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Our thoughts go out to a little girl in Louisville  who has had her own fight recently--undergoing two bone marrow transplants.

Addison Lynn Miles just turned 1-year-old and was diagnosed with acute leukemia back in March.

On Tuesday at the University of Louisville, Be the Match was back in action partnering up with several agencies as well as Alpha Phi Omega --- a national co-ed service fraternity.

They were encouraging people to to sign up to be part of the registry to be a bone marrow donor -- more than 50 people signing up on Tuesday.

It's the second time the UofL has honored Addison and her fight, her family with ties to the University of Louisville, and so many people wanting to help.

Tuesday's effort was also part of a competition between UofL and UK to line up new bone marrow donors.

The school that signs up the most gets a trophy that will be presented before the UK and UofL basketball game in 2012.
