LOUISVILLE, Ky. (News Release) - The Kentucky Science Center's newest exhibit, BODY WORLDS Vital, opened Sunday, January 20.
The exhibition, created by world renowned Dr. Gunther von Hagens, features real, donated human specimens allowing visitors to examine anatomy, physiology and health through an extraordinary process called Plastination, a method of specimen preservation that makes anatomical display possible.
The exhibition includes whole-body plastinates, a large arrangement of individual organs, organ and arterial configurations and translucent slices that give a complete picture of how the human body works. Vital tells the fascinating story how to best fight, manage and prevent life-threatening diseases -- such as cancer, diabetes, and heart ailments -- through healthy choices and lifestyle changes.
All tickets are timed for the Body Worlds Vital exhibit entrance. Member ticket prices for Body Worlds Vital are $10 for adults and $5 for children 2-12. IMAX® is available as an add-on.
Public tickets start at $20 for adults, which includes Body Worlds Vital and permanent exhibits, and $15 for children 2-12. Other ticket combinations and prices are available.
The purchase of a Body Worlds Vital ticket includes the permanent exhibit galleries. Tickets to access only the Science Center's permanent exhibits will also be available.
