LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A special plea involving a dog shot in the face in Kentucky that still needs medical help.

Lad the collie is continuing to recover through the help of Blue Pearl in Louisville.

The Arrow Fund has been raising money to help care for the dog that lost part of its jaw after being shot.

It happened in Owensboro, and for a while, it was touch-and-go with Lad, who needed a feeding tube since he was unable to eat or drink on his own.

Part of his lower jaw had to be removed and UC Davis in California may have the help he needs. The only problem has been finding transportation to get Lad there by Monday.

Rebecca Eaves says they are looking for a corporation with a plane or a private plane to take him and two escorts to Sacramento.
