FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Health officials are reporting two more swine flu deaths in Kentucky, bringing the state's total to 10.
Department of Health spokeswoman Gwenda Bond says a Knox County woman in her 80s with significant underlying health issues and a man in his 40s from the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange were the latest to die from the illness. She said the inmate was being treated off-site.
Health Commissioner William Hacker says Kentucky is experiencing widespread flu activity. He encouraged frequent handwashing, staying home when sick to prevent spreading the virus, and getting the flu shot.
