(WHAS11) - If you are having trouble paying for your prescription medications, help could be on the way.

The Partnership for Prescription Assistance national bus tour pulled into Kentuckiana Friday afternoon.

Amid high unemployment, many people have lost their health insurance benefits, which means a much higher bill for prescription medications.

But pharmaceutical companies have programs that offer low cost or even free prescription medications for those who qualify.

For more information, you can call 1-888-4-PPA-NOW to talk to a trained operator.? Or, you can log on to .? The PPA says it takes 10 to 15 minutes to find out if someone may qualify for free or discounted medications.
